Cheryl McGannon is an Australian painter/printmaker and long-standing Visual Arts teacher. She works from her studios in Noosa, Queensland, Australia. Cheryl comes from a long history of Art Education in the tertiary sector. She has exhibited extensively throughout Australia and South East Asia and she is the recipient of numerous awards. She now brings her considerable skills to Barcelona.

Cheryl believes that at the heart of all art there is a desire to communicate. Cheryl does this through the process of application and elimination, gradually layering colour, creating depth and translucency in her paintings. Her process involves a balance between intuitive mark making and careful deliberation, and her inspiration springs from her own personal journey through life.

Cheryl is a very professional, approachable and generous facilitator, with a friendly manner who inspires, encourages and provides direction to those undertaking her workshops.

Cheryl holds the following tertiary qualifications:

Bachelor of Visual Arts, James Cook University

Bachelor of Education (Tertiary) University of South Australia

Master Degree in Creative Arts, James Cook University

If you want a comprehensive cold wax course then you must go to Cheryl’s Abstract Painting with Cold Wax Mixed Media workshop. I did this workshop and found it to be excellent value. Great demonstrations and techniques shown and guidance given. Lots of time to work and experiment with the medium. Cheryl has an expert mastery of her medium and is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this workshop and Cheryl as an excellent teacher.
