Invent new sides of yourself in these mixed media workshops
An atmosphere of experimentation and communication will be fostered as you gradually develop your work through the processes of building layers, reduction techniques, and collage via demonstrations and informal discussions. These workshops are designed for all levels and those wishing to expand their creative repertoire. If you are currently working with acrylics, watercolour, encaustic paints, oil paints or just wanting to try something new or experiment with new techniques, then this is the workshop for you.
Kaj Ard is a very talented artist and skilled instructor. He will guide you through these 4-3-1 day intensive, creative workshops. You will have fun while being introduced to new techniques that will enhance your current art practice. You’ll mainly use acrylic colours because they dry fast and allow to continue with next layers in the same day. You’ll learn how to build up layers with paper, fillers, concrete, etc. and try out all kinds of materials - lost and found, concrete, etc. Any material can be used in your work. Get used to the idea of scratching and taking away while building up new layers.
To complete this special experience, we will organise a farewell evening with an open to the public exhibition at Studio 42 Art & Design Gallery where all participants will be able to showcase their selected artwork produced during the workshop.
Take advantage of being in Barcelona and combine your painting activity with visits to some of Gaudi's masterpieces like la Sagrada Familia and most famous Barcelona art museums, where the works of Catalan Masters such as Picasso, Tapies, Miro and Dalí are exhibited.
